The Hundred Draft: Final squads and player prices for each team

The draft for The Hundred competition that took place in London yesterday saw Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan become the first player to be selected for the inaugural season of the tournament. However, Chris Gayle, Lasith Malinga, and Kagiso Rabada were some of the big names that found no takers.

Shakib al Hasan's availability was made uncertain due to the Tests against Sri Lanka and New Zealand in July and August while Pakistan's Babar Azam is also likely to be involved in the Test series against England, and hence both found no takers.

Each team had already bought one contracted England Test player along with two ‘local icons’. A total number of 12 players were needed by each team to complete their squad yesterday.

The swashbuckling all-rounder Andre Russell was selected by Southern Brave while Australian limited-overs skipper Aaron Finch went to Northern Superchargers. The leading-wicket taker in the ICC World Cup in England and Wales earlier this year, Mitchell Starc, was taken up by Welsh Fire. The Australians were particularly in demand as the Future Tours Programme will allow them to be available for the entire tournament.

Here is how the teams look after the completion of the selection process.
