The obligatory Christmas Cricket post
Well, it’s Christmas again and things are a little quiet online.
Offline, Pup may or may not play in the second test against Sri Lanka, due to an injury, and is thus considering giving our opponents a sporting chance by installing Twatto as captain; and Shane Warne has annoyed me. Again.
On a postive note, Cricket Australia have acknowledged the potentially harmful effects of too much T20 by banning the test side from playing in the Big Bash League. Temporarily, of course. There’s still money to be made from Mitch Starc after all.
Sachin Tendulkar has finally [partially] retired. I have been prepared for the day of his retirement for some time. The survival plan involves an abundance of canned goods and avoidance of Twitter for several days. In the event, however, I was duped. Sachin has only retired from ODIs (or ODI’s, depending on how stupid the people you follow on Twitter are), so I thought I would be safe. I was, of course, wrong. It was worse than I expected, because not only are people virtually crying but there has been an explosion of misused apostrophes.
These people should be banned from social networking, sterilised and forced to read Lynne Truss over and over and over again.
Without further ado, I shall wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope to come back and start afresh with the Boxing Day test. I know I should be doing this on Christmas eve, but I plan to go watch A Muppet Christmas Carol tomorrow. I like the Muppets more than I like you lot.
Have a good one.
