Kane Williamson was picked up by the Sunrisers for only three crores

The IPL has seen downfalls of overrated stars and bargain buys making a mark. Several big names who were picked for more than eight crores have flopped badly whereas some low-key players have exceeded the expectations of their franchise owners.

These players have shown that their price tag does not do justice to their performances at all. Such cricketers have proved to be great assets for their franchises and have been the reason for their team's good show in the league.

Among these, are some international cricketers who have played for their countries for several number of years. Here is a look at 5 bargain buys who have exceeded expectations in this IPL.

Suryakumar Yadav is the first uncapped player to score 500 runs in an IPL season

Suryakumar Yadav was picked up by the Mumbai Indians for 3.2 crores at the IPL auction. The right-hander became the first uncapped player to amass 500 runs in a season in the history of IPL.

He has been the lone bright star in Mumbai's overall inconsistent campaign. Since his move to the top of the order, Yadav has given the Mumbai Indians brisk starts and platform for the middle order to launch an assault.

However, not always the Mumbai Indians middle order has capitalized on the advantage given by Yadav. Yet, he continued to be an underrated star in the MI ranks.

While Yadav has already crossed 500 runs, the next best Mumbai Indians batsman, Rohit Sharma, is 200 runs behind him.

It clearly shows what impact he has made. It was a great move by the Mumbai Indians to pick their hometown hero this season.
