Murali Vijay is India's opener in the longest format of the game. Murali Vijay has never succeeded as a limited overs player for India. Murali Vijay has played for 3 IPL teams, CSK, KXIP and DD. He will return to CSK this year, the franchise where he proved himself as someone who had the skills to be a T20 player. He was bought at his base price of Rs. 2 cr.

His T20 stats are pretty good. He has scored 3727 runs in 151 innings at an average of 26, he has a strike rate of 122.

He has the ability to play the anchor role or be the aggressor. In a star-studded batting line-up, people won't carry a lot of hopes from a batsman who is perceived as a Test match batsman.
