Three Bowlers who can score a Test-match hundred
The lower-order batsmen have always played a key role in helping their sides post a competitive total. Runs down the order are always handy and bowlers should always put a price on their wicket. There are many contemporary bowlers who have shown the right technique, as well as the temperament, and have the caliber to score a Test match hundred. It is always a bonus when a bowler contributes to the team's cause with the bat and vice-versa for the batsmen.
These cricketers have a solid defense and they also have attacking shots in their repertoire. It is imperative for the teams to have bowlers who can chip in with contributions with the bat. Furthermore, a tail which wags in the fag end of the innings is always frustrating for the opposition side. We take a look at three such batsmen who can get to three figures in Tests.
#1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
India's swing master Bhuvneshwar Kumar is no mug with the bat. Kumar has a solid defense as well as the required technique to get to triple digits in the longest format of the game. The right-hander knows where his off-stump is and he is a confident batter when it comes to leaving the ball.
In 21 Test matches, Kumar has scored his runs at an average of 22.08. The Uttar Pradesh-based player has a highest score of 63 runs and he has also scored three fifties in the red ball version and one half-century in the ODI format. In fact, the right-hander had brought up his best in testing English conditions at Trent Bridge in 2014. Kumar has thus far amassed 552 runs in the Test format.
Kumar has scored crucial runs for the team in tricky situations and he can definitely get a hundred in the highest form of the game. Kumar might not have the power to hit big sixes but he can definitely work the ball into the gaps to get his runs. The right-hander also has the skills to rotate the strike at regular intervals.
