TNPL 2016: Coaches helped us boost confidence, says VB Thiruvallur Veerans’ Jaganath Sinivas

Rahil Shah and Jaganath Sinivas of VB Thiruvallur Veerans addressed the media ahead of the India Cements TN Premier League game against Dindigul Dragons at the India Cements Limited Cricket Ground at Sankarnagar on Wednesday.
 
Your thoughts on the wicket...

Rahil: It is the first match on this wicket and though I haven’t seen it still Malolan (Rangarajan) has. The surface is a bit uneven and the ground looks like the one in Chepauk and Natham.
 
What are your thoughts on Dindigul Dragons?

Rahil: They have played two and won both games which means that they are doing everything right. They have four good spinners and it is going to be a good match. There is no particular strategy as such but then we have told our players to be aware of what is happening. We have also seen both their games and have come up with a few plans here and there. Let us see how it goes.
 
Did the win in the last game give you a boost of confidence?

Rahil: It was a tremendous comeback by us. We showed superb team spirit and togetherness to come back from the brink. The morale in the camp is good. We have the belief that we can make a comeback from any situation and make a match out of it.
 
Do you think this tournament will help Tamil Nadu find talent?

Rahil: Yes, it will definitely help. I have been playing in Tamil Nadu for the past five to six years and we rarely play T20s. Here, it is more of three-day games and ODIs, so this tournament will help everyone. It can unearth new talents in all formats -- senior or junior.
 
What is the difference between this tournament and others you have played in? 

Rahil: It has a local flavour and there is a lot of publicity. A lot of media is involved and people are aware of the tournament. Every match is telecast on Star Sports which is a great initiative. It is a superb platform for us to showcase our skills.
 
How has your exposure been in this tournament?

Jaganath: It is a great opportunity for young players like me. This is what we dream about and we will use this chance to prove ourselves. The coaches helped us to boost confidence.
