TNPL 2016: India Cements TN Premier League is an exciting tournament to be a part of - Suryaprakash
Lyca Kovai Kings opener L Suryaprakash spoke exclusively to the India Cements TN Premier League website ahead of the team’s game against the Dindigul Dragons at the India Cements Limited Ground, Sankarnagar, Tirunelveli. Excerpts from the interview:
How have you enjoyed opening the batting in the tournament so far?
I have learnt how to handle pressure situations and the tournament, on the whole, is exciting. This kind of league is a great initiative by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA). I am thankful to them for this opportunity.
Given a chance, would you like to bat down the order as well?
It depends on the situation of the team and I would have to adapt accordingly. If the team demands it and requires my services in the middle order, I would surely play that role as well.
What are the positives of the Kings in the tournament so far?
First positive is that we are united as a team and have gelled well. We have done well in all the departments in some games, but we will have to make sure both our batting and bowling complement each other especially during the business end of the tournament.
Areas you think the team needs to improve…
There is always scope for improvement in the game of cricket. There are no specific areas as such, but we would need to build as a team and improve our performances on the whole.
Personally, how would you want to better your batting?
I would want to build my batting and pace my innings better. I also want to be a little more consistent.
