TNPL 2016: Our pacers won us the game in the first six overs, says Kaalai’s Ganapathy

C Ganapathy saw his side halt the Kovai Kings’ run of victories

C Ganapathy of Karaikudi Kaalai addressed the media after his team beat Lyca Kovai Kings by 36 runs in their India Cements TN Premier League game at Chepauk on Friday.

On his bowling performance...

It was very important for our pacers to get the early breakthroughs. They got two crucial wickets at the start and it turned the game.

On R Srinivasan’s form...

We are confident that he will fire in the coming games. We as a team have faith in him to do well.

On the impact created by R Rajkumar, A Srikanth in the middle-order...

We have lots of confidence and I expect a lot form the two. Rajkumar is in good form and I come down the lower order to supplement both. Also, Srikanth wanted to keep wickets for this match and it was a decision taken considering the team strategy.

On the wicket...

It was good for batting and was on the slower side.

On S Badrinath batting at different positions...

Though he started at No. 5 still we wanted him to come in at No. 3 as the plan was for him to bat from the start to the end and hold the innings together.

On the target...

The par score was 160 for the last six games and it was defendable. We bowled well in the first six overs and it made all the difference.
