TNPL 2016: We have to do or die in the next match, says Kings’ Sitaram

B Anirudh Sitaram saw his side fail to chase 154

B Anirudh Sitaram of Lyca Kovai Kings addressed the media after his team lost to Karaikudi Kaalai by 36 runs in their India Cements TN Premier League game at Chepauk on Friday.

Was the target too big to chase?

No, it was a gettable total and we should have chased it especially on this wicket. Our batting failed to click and we lost crucial wickets which contributed to the loss.

Will Murali Vijay be available for the next game?

I have no clue as the answer lies with the team management.

On the slow start to the innings...

We tried to consolidate and did well at the start. Even the wicket was good and 160 was not a steep target. Our batting failed while the bowling was good.

On the team's batting woes...

We as a team have to click and today we didn’t. We had an off-day and such things happen in T20s.

Thoughts on the opposition...

They were superb and their middle-order was key for the win. Even the bowlers bowled a good line and length.

How will the team bounce back?

Next game is a must-win for us and we are going with a target to win at any cost.

On the fielding plan...

We are a good fielding team and had a bad day in the office. We dropped a few catches but are still confident of doing well in the next match.
