Top 10 ODI teams and their lowest ODI totals since 2010
One Day International Cricket is not the same anymore. Earlier, the scores of 260-270 were considered to be a defendable total but nowadays even the scores of 300-325 are chased down very easily.
The batsmen have dominated the game in the past decade and the fact that 7 double hundreds have been scored since 2010 just acknowledges the trend. The English team shattered the long-standing record of the highest total in an ODI innings by smashing 481/6 in a match against Australia.
However, there have been instances where the bowlers have had the upper hand and have been able to dismiss the opposition team very cheaply.
Here are the top 10 ODI teams and their lowest ODI totals since 2010
#10 Afghanistan - 58 vs Zimbabwe, 2016
Afghanistan and Zimbabwe clashed in an ODI series in the 2015/16 season. In the third ODI of the series which was being played in the U.A.E, Zimbabwe elected to bat first after winning the toss. They lost both the openers for ducks and the Zimbabwean team was in trouble.
Hamilton Masakadza (83) kept on scoring runs from one end but did not get support from his partners. No. 9 batsman Graeme Cremer scored a half-century as the Zimbabwean innings folded for 175. Mirwais Ashraf had picked 3 wickets for Afghanistan.
It seemed like that the Afghans would win the match easily but the Zimbabwean bowlers had other plans as they caused the Afghan batsmen to collapse as only one batsman could reach double digits.
Jongwe scalped 5 wickets giving away just 6 runs as he led the charge for the visitors. Afghanistan were shot out for just 58 runs in 16.1 overs as they lost the match by 117 runs.
