Top 10 run-getters in Ranji Trophy
Ranji Trophy's 84th season is set to get underway on 6th October, and another chapter in its history will be added. Over the years, India's top-tier first-class tournament has seen many a great player go on to achieve everything there is to achieve in the sport.
There were also a few, who despite giving their all in the domestic circuit, couldn't make it big at the international level. For instance, Ranji Trophy has a batsman who accumulated over 10,000 runs in the competition but unfortunately, his international numbers were not nearly so good.
Keeping that in mind, let's have a look at the top 10 all-time Ranji run-getters.
#10 Rashmi Parida
In a Ranji career spanning over 20 years, the right-handed batsman amassed 7516 runs in the competition. He started his career with Orissa in 1994 and stayed with them until the 2008 season. He then played for Assam, Rajasthan, Vidarbha and finally ended his career with Himachal Pradesh in 2015.
After making it to the semifinals with Orissa in 2001, a match where he scored two half-centuries, Parida helped Rajasthan to the title in 2011. Overall in 139 first-class matches, the wicketkeeper-batsman scored 8317 runs at 42.21.
However, he was unlucky in terms of national team selection and couldn't make the cut.
