When the Indian Premier League started, nobody imagined that it would be such a big hit and come up with so much success. IPL has not only given T20 cricket a new look but it has also given chances for many players to come up and live their dream. Many new faces came and went but only few remained in the hearts of the people. Let’s take a look through the top 3 finds of the Indian Premier League.
Shaun Marsh
Shaun Marsh, a prolific top order batsman from Australia, first came into the picture when he was awarded a contract by Kings XI Punjab in the first season of IPL. Marsh proved to be one of the greatest hits of the tournament. Despite missing the first 4 matches of the season, Marsh went on to score 616 runs at an average of 68.44, including a century against Rajasthan Royals, thus becoming the first player to clinch the orange cap in the IPL. He is also the leading run scorer for Kings XI Punjab and that’s the main reason why he was retained by the franchise after the third season of the IPL when all the teams were revamped. For his wonderful season with the bat in the 2008 IPL, he was awarded with an international call from Australia. Shaun Marsh has proved to be one of the best players at the international level, as he averages 27.36 and 36.50 in Tests and ODI respectively, thus making him one of the greatest finds of the IPL.

Ravichandran Ashwin
A right arm off-break bowler from Tamil Nadu who plays for Chennai Super Kings in IPL, Ashwin first came into lime light when he took 13 wickets in the 2010 IPL. Since then, he has been a regular feature of Super Kings. Ashwin was one of the main weapons of Super Kings in the 2010 Champions League. He took 13 wickets in the tournament. Later, he was adjudged Man of the Series and also won the golden wicket. He is one of the best bowlers in the Indian Premier League, taking 49 wickets at an economy of 6.12 which is best by any bowler in IPL (in terms of economy). For his consistent performance with the ball, he was awarded with an international call from BCCI. On his debut Test series, he was awarded the Man of the series for his magnificent performance with both bat and ball. Since then, he has been regular feature for Indian team in all the formats of the game, taking 81, 66 and 14 wickets in Tests, ODI and T20 respectively. In the 2010 season, he scored a brilliant 107* making his presence known for world cricket. In 2011, playing for Daredevils, he scored back to back centuries, scoring 135* and 123* against Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively in the Champions league.
