T20 has now become an indispensable part of the game of cricket as the shortest format of the game has garnered a huge number of followers. The money involved in the 3-hour long games has also increased and hence, we have seen almost every cricket board starting to host a T20 tournament of its own.
Although not all have become successful, a few leagues have even become the criterion for players to get selected to their respective national squads. Despite not being played at the highest competitive level, there are pressure games played during the course of the tournament with the most important game being the tournament finale.
Tournament finals have always guaranteed excellent matches and some great performances from individual players. There have been a number of excellent innings played by cricketers in the finals of any season of a league. However, we have compiled a list of 3 performances by individual cricketers which also rank as the top 3 individual scores in T20 league finals.
#3 Shane Watson - 117* (Indian Premier League 2018)
Shane Watson's knock of 117 runs in the final of the IPL 2018 stands 3rd on this list. The Aussie's knock came in just 57 deliveries as he hammered the SRH bowlers all around the park with 11 boundaries and 8 huge sixes.
Chasing a stiff target of 179 runs in the final, many deemed that it would be a difficult chase considering SRH had the best bowling line-up in the tournament. CSK also got off to a very slow start and Shane Watson consumed many deliveries without scoring a lot of runs.
Watson's opening partner Faf Du Plessis was out to Sandeep Sharma and the pressure was mounting on the former Australian all-rounder. Watson did not disappoint as he took on every opposition bowler and helped the team reach the target. He scored the majority of runs for his side and scripted a fairytale comeback for CSK in the IPL.
