This century by Lance Klusener is the oldest chasing T20 century on a losing cause. The South African all-rounder played a beautiful knock a decade ago when the T20 cricket was at a nascent stage.

Worcestershire won the toss and chose to bat on a batting paradise against Northamptonshire. The legendary English batsman Graeme Hick opened the batting with Vikram Solanki.

They together scored 175 from the first 14 overs. It helped Worcestershire to set a record target of 228. Hick had scored a brilliant century in 44 balls and became the oldest player to score a T20 hundred.

Lance Klusener led the Steelbacks chase with a quick-fire start. The all-rounder along Usman Azfaal forged a 92 run partnership in just eight overs. While the wickets tumbled at the other end, Klusener waged a lone battle and scored a 36-ball hundred. Klusener went on to score an unbeaten 111 runs. The team got stranded five short of the target ending with a score of 222.
