5 Alvin Kallicharan
Left-handed batsman Alvin Kallicharan was one of the most elegant batsmen to have ever played for the West Indies and during his 9-year career from 1972 to 1981, he cemented his place in Caribbean cricket history.
For Guyana, he debuted in the 1966-67 season and went on to play for them till 1990 and is rightly regarded as one of the best to have represented the island nation in domestic cricket. In a remarkable career, Kallicharan notched up 87 first-class centuries to go along with 160 half-centuries, and ran up an aggregate of 32650 runs in first-class cricket.
For West Indies he was equally prolific, having scored 12 centuries and 21 half-centuries in 66 Test matches, at an average of 44.43. There is no doubt that he is one of the finest cricketers that Guyana has ever produced.
