The T20 format has grown by leaps and bounds with each passing day. Especially in the last few years, no target looks out of reach for the batters with thick willow, an explosive mindset, and a plethora of shots in their arsenal.
Round 7 of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Thursday (December 5) saw Baroda posting the highest-ever T20 total of 349 against Sikkim and then winning the game by a mammoth margin of 263 runs.
In the other game, Punjab batter Abhishek Sharma slammed a 28-ball hundred against Meghalaya to place himself among the fastest batters to reach the three-figure mark.
On that note, let’s take a look at the five fastest centuries in the shortest format.

The talented wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant made waves with his sensational hundred for Delhi in the 2018 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Himachal Pradesh in Delhi.
Batting first, Himachal posted a modest total of 144 on the board, with Nikhil Gangta (40) as the top-scorer.
Gambhir opened with Pant and played as second fiddle, as the youngster turned into a tormentor for the opposition bowlers. He went on to blast a century off 32 balls to register the fastest hundred by an Indian player at the time. Pant (116* off 38) and Gambhir (30* off 33) helped the side to chase down the total in 11.4 overs.
#4 Chris Gayle (RCB) - 30 balls vs PWI, Bengaluru, 2013
Caribbean batter Chris Gayle stunned the cricket fraternity with his exceptional ball-striking. The southpaw powered his way to a hundred off 30 balls for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2013 against Pune Warriors India in Bengaluru.
