Twitter Reactions: Mitchell Starc becomes the fastest to 100 ODI wickets

Mitchell Starc celebrates with teammates after getting his 100th ODI wicket

Mitchell Starc created history as he became the fastest bowler to claim 100 ODI wickets during the first ODI match between Sri Lanka and Australia. Dhananjaya de Silva was Starc’s 100th victim as he achieved the feat in the 33rd over of the Sri Lankan innings at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

He broke the 19-year-old record held by former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq.

The left arm quick came into the match with 98 wickets from 51 matches with a brilliant average of 19.79 and a strike rate of 24.60. Earlier in the Test series against Sri Lanka, Starc broke the record of Sir Richard Hadlee by becoming the highest wicket taker in a Test series in Asia by a visiting bowler.

Starc is undoubtedly the best left-arm fast bowler of the modern generation and it won’t be a surprise if he goes on to break all bowling records before he calls it quits.

Here is how twitter reacted on Starc becoming the quickest bowler to 100 ODI wickets.
