Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons since Bangladesh’s 1 run defeat to India and the player faced flak once again while expressing his joy as the West Indies women won the ICC Women’s World T20.

The 27-year-old was ecstatic as the Caribbean side defeated their Australian counterparts by eight wickets in the all-important final. The Windies women chased down Australia’s 148 in spectacular fashion as they went all guns blazing and won the match comprehensively by eight wickets and three balls to spare.

The Bogra-born player had courted controversy in the match against India when he celebrated victory prematurely before the team lost the match by 1 run and Rahim was trolled heavily on Twitter. After Bangladesh’s humiliating defeat against India, he took to Twitter after India’s defeat against West Indies in the semi-finals. He tweeted the following, "Happiness is this....!!!!!! #ha ha ha...!!!! India lost in the semifinal."

Rahim’s deleted tweet

That time, he was heavily criticised by Twitter users but was quick to realise the negative impression of his actions as he deleted the tweet and also apologised for the act. Rahim was severely trolled by Twitter users from all around the world for his behaviour.

However, this time, the former Bangladesh skipper expressed his joy on Twitter after the match. He congratulated the West Indies women’s team but referred to the side as “guys”.

His tweet wasn't that bad, since it's customary to use 'guys' for people of both gender. However, Twitter users didn't think so, and took on him. Perhaps what is objectionable, the trolls were also directed towards Mushfiqur’s Bangladeshi community.

Here is what happened:

Twitter users came up with some biting replies to Rahim’s tweet.
