Perth Scorchers made it three wins in a row after comprehensively beating Sydney Sixers by nine wickets and climbed to the top of Big Bash League 2015. But arguably the biggest talking point from the game wasn’t the nature victory but what both sides were wearing.

In what can only be described as a unique move by both teams, Scorchers and Sixers both came out sporting jerseys to celebrate the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which releases in cinemas on March 25 (India and on 24 in Australia).

Aside from the unique jerseys, there were plenty of other giveaways too, including black capes for the first 2,500 kids through the gate.

As per the Scorchers official website, they were: “Throughout the first innings, for every six that the Scorchers hit (if batting) OR every wicket the Scorchers take (if fielding), one family trip to Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast will be given away. The winner/s will be selected at the innings break, when an LED spin (like a roulette wheel) around the ground.“

At the 10-over mark of the second innings, the ‘ultimate fan’ winner was to be selected randomly, which will entail them and a guest to a trip to the BBL 05 BIG Final to represent their club.

The website added: “At the BIG Final the eight ‘ultimate fan’ winners will compete in an on-field competition for the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime family trip to Los Angeles to visit Warner Bros. Studios, the home of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!”

While the movie is already generating plenty of buzz and is likely to be an epic superhero battle between the duo, the game was anything but epic, as the clinical Scorchers completed another comprehensive victory.

On a belter of a pitch, Sixers didn’t make the most of their decision to bat first, as they stuttered and stumbled to 112/8 in their 20 overs. David Willey, who received the Man of the Match for his figures of 4-0-22-3, was the pick of the bowlers.

Much like their previous match, Shaun Marsh and Michael Klinger were intent on finishing the match themselves. Although Klinger was dismissed for 28, Marsh stood firm and made it back-to-back unbeaten fifties as the hosts finished the game with 5.3 overs to spare.

Here are some of the best Tweets from the game.
