Umar Akmal cleared to play after suffering a fit
Pakistan batsman Umar AkmalĀ is set to resume playing cricket after thorough medical tests stated him fit. The 23-year-old, who played for Barbados in the just concluded Caribbean Premier League, had to come back home midway after suffering from a fit.
PCB released a statement on Akmal’s health condition saying that it was just an odd incident and attributed it to sleep deprivation.
A Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman said on Friday, “The good news is that after extensive tests and examination by top neurologists. Umar Akmal has been cleared to play again.”
He added: “It was a one-off incident.”
Umar Akmal is now expected to be a part of Pakistan’s series against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates next month.
