Varun Aaron - India's New Weapon

Varun Aaron

Varun Aaron has been the most-talked about paceman in India ever since he clocked a 153 kph delivery during the 2010-11 Vijay Hazare Trophy final against Gujarat at the Holkar stadium in Indore. It was the fastest ball ever bowled by an Indian.

The Jharkhand youngster has been out of international cricket for nearly two years now due to injuries. Now he is back in the Indian ODI squad against New Zealand, and Aaron is expected to perform well, because of his abilities to consistently ball good line and lengths at high pace as well.

Varun Aaron has been spending a considerable amount of time at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore before the Ranji season. He set his eyes firmly on the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season, where he performed really well for Jharkhand. Aaron is the second highest wicket taker for Jharkhand this season with 20 wickets from his 6 matches with the best bowling figures in a match of 7 for 68.

Varun Aaron has the best strike-rate in the Jharkhand team of 46.8. He has a bowling average of 21.95 in this season, which is also the best bowling average for any player in the Jharkhand squad.

Sometimes, Face bowlers tend to lose their pace when they are coming off injuries. But Aaron has been consistent in his pace in the 2013-14 ranji season. Varun Aaron will be one of MS Dhoni‘s prime weapons in the New Zealand’s seaming greeny tracks, not only because of his pace, but also because of his abilities to ball good lines and lengths consistently. Good Luck Varun Aaron.
