Video: Babar Azam scores 26-ball-hundred; Shoaib Malik smashes six sixes in a single over in charity match
The T10 format, which was introduced a few weeks ago has grabbed the attention of fans across the globe. The new, exciting, and quick format has gained a lot of viewership over the past couple of weeks and is increasing in popularity.
Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi decided to get in on the action as well and hosted a T10 match for his foundation - the Shahid Afridi foundation.
The match was nothing short of a spectacle, with over 400 runs being scored. The two teams which took part were the Green Team and Red Team. Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik was a part of the Red Team, while Afridi and Babar Azam played were a part of the Green Team.
Arguably Pakistan's best ODI batsman currently, Azam, had a memorable outing. With the Green Team bowling first, Shoaib Malik showed no mercy as he smashed his teammate Azam for six sixes in a single over.
Eventually, The Red Team ended up with 210 runs in their quota of ten overs.
With nothing to lose, Azam scored a 26-ball-century. He showed no mercy as he decimated the opposition bowling attack and smashed them all over the park. Azam's hundred is technically the fastest hundred ever scored; however, with the match being held for charity and not being official, no record was broken.
Azam's century helped his side win the nail-biting encounter as Afridi finished off the match with a four.
Azam has played an integral role in Pakistan's success in the ODI format over the past year or so. He has played a total of 36 ODIs and has scored 1758 runs at an average of 58.60 with seven half-centuries and seven centuries to his name.
