Video: Ian Bell: 'Tomorrow is a massive day'
Post-match reaction from Ian Bell on Sunday following his third century of the Ashes series.
Ian Bell, England batsman (on his current run of form):
“it’s right up there. I think I had a little period against Sri Lanka in India in 2011 which felt pretty good but this is right up there for my and my career now.”
Ian Bell, England batsman:
“the important thing for us as a group was winning the Ashes. We’ve done decently so far. Tomorrow is a massive day for us but I haven’t really thought to much about that (his current form). There will be time to think about that when I’ve finished my cricket. For me, tomorrow morning is the most important thing. Try and get as many runs as we can on this pitch and give our bowlers the opportunity, but I haven’t really thought too much about that (his current form).”
Ian Bell, England batsman (on his partnership with Kevin Pietersen):
“Yes very good. I mean it is good to have him I think as a group back in form so he is a massive player for us. He played very well and Jonny Bairstow coming in there as well. Crucial getting a 50-run partnership as well helped us and hopefully, myself and Tim Bresnan can do something similar tomorrow. We know how dangerous Matt Prior can be if we get a bit of momentum so I think it is teed up for a great Test match. We know that Australia will come hard at us tomorrow. The next two days are going to be very exciting.”
