Video: India train ahead of Zimbabwe ODI

India’s One-Day squad took part in their first training session since arriving in Zimbabwe on Monday, ahead of their five-match tour of the African country

India are being led in Zimbabwe by Virat Kohli in the absence of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has been rested by the national selectors to give him some respite from the rigours of international cricket.

The selectors have also rested front-line seamers Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, plus spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

A relatively young 15-man India squad features two new faces – Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder Parvez Rasool and fast bowler Mohit Sharma.

India will play five ODIs in Harare and Bulawayo over the course of their 11-day tour and will hope to do a little better than when they last visited Zimbabwe.

In 2010, they failed to reach the final of a triangular tournament with the hosts and Sri Lanka.
The first match takes place on Wednesday at the Harare Sports Club, with India scheduled to play at the same venue twice more before moving on to Bulawayo.
