VIDEO: India Under-19 squad's rappelling session with Rahul Dravid
The 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup is to be held in Bangladesh from January 22 to February 14. India is the reigning World Champions in this age group and are among the favorites to win the tournament. Former Indian batsman Rahul Dravid is the head coach of the Indian Under-19 team.
The Indian Under-19 squad to play in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016 was announced by the selection committee in Mumbai on December 22.
The team led by Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan have, over the past month won back-to-back triangular series – first involving Bangladesh and Afghanistan and later, against tougher opposition in England and Sri Lanka.
India will start their World Cup campaign against Ireland at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on January 28. Then they will take on New Zealand and Nepal on January 30 and February 1 at the same venue.
Dravid is very confident that his squad has enough talent to do well in the World Cup. Dravid wants the youngsters to perform well rather than focusing solely on results.
He earlier revealed that he is thrilled to be working with the youngsters as he attempts to impart his experience and knowledge to the promising cricketers.
For the preparation for the upcoming tournament the Indian Under-19 team went on to a Boot Camp on January 15. The purpose of this rock climbing session is to help the youngsters to relax a bit and to spend some time away from cricket. This rappelling session will surely help them to focus on their job before travelling to Bangladesh.
