[Video] Indian Cricket Team, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli cheered by fans at airport after India vs West Indies match
The Indian team lost to West Indies by seven wickets in the second final of the ICC World T20 2016. Despite Virat Kohli’s heroics from the bat and the ball, the total posted on the board was not good enough as the team from Carribeans held on to their nerves and after some lucky escapes reached the target with two balls to spare.
Generally, when our Cricket team returns home after a defeat, the scenes back home are not pleasant. However, this time, now that the tournament was at home, the team members were spotted at the airport after India’s loss to West Indies, the crowd applauded the team and chanted, especially, Kohli’s and Dhoni’s name.
The Indian team has reached the semi-finals of an ICC tournament for the third time in row, out of which on the first occasion, they reached the finals of the ICC World T20 2014 in Bangladesh. The Men in Blue lost to hosts Australia in the semi-final of the ODI World Cup in 2015 while they lost to West Indies in this year’s World T20.
However, the team’s performance on all three occasions was commendable and the players deserve the applauds and cheering from the crowd. As for the World T20 this year, Virat Kohli was team’s best performer and carried the team on his shoulders in most of the matches. Also, MS Dhoni’s captaincy attracted a lot of praise, as a result of which these two players were the center of attraction at the airport.
