Video: Jade Dernbach's slower delivery embarrasses batsman

 Jade Dernbach

Jade Dernbach produced a brilliant slower delivery to dismiss Joe Leach during the NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final encounter between Surrey and Worcestershire at The Oval on Saturday.

With Worcestershire struggling at 115/6 in the 17th over, Leach was trying to up the scoring rate which under 7 at that point of time. But the Surrey batsman couldn’t go far as his innings of 20 was cut short, when Dernbach bowled a dream slower delivery from the back of his hand.

England’s limited-overs specialist bowler, who is known to bowl a flurry of slower deliveries in nearly every game he plays in, produced a ball that dipped very late and completely outfoxed the batsman, who was expecting the ball to arrive at him at waist height. In the end, the ball yorked Leach and hit the base of the stumps.

Dernbach managed to pick up impressive figures of 2-22 in 4 overs as Surrey beat Worcestershire by 7 wickets to qualify for the NatWest T20 Blast semi-final.

The London-based side will face Warwickshire in the semi-finals which will take place on Finals Day, i.e 23 August at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
