Video: Jamaica Tallawahs beat St Lucia Zouks in CPL

Andre Russell smashed four sixes in a 19-ball 47 to take Jamaica Tallawahs home by six wickets with 15 deliveries to spare against the St Lucia Zouks on Saturday (August 10).

The win lifted Jamaica to second position in the Caribbean Premier League behind the Barbados Tridents while St Lucia stayed bottom after their fourth loss in five matches.

St Lucia Zouks cricket team were looking for their second win in the Carribean Premier League, made a stuttering start in front of their home fans.

The opposition were Jamaica Tallawahs and they bowled well, as Andre Fletcher and Misbah-ul-Haq were both back in the pavilion within the opening five overs.

Tamim Iqbal and Herschelle Gibbs started to build and Tamin scored 75 off 62 balls, including three sixes, to see St Lucia finishing their innings on 142 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Evidently, this was not an easy wicket to score quick runs on.

For Jamaica there was the occasional flash from Chris Gayle on the crease, but he was largely subdued by his high standards.

Wickets soon fell, including that of Gayle and the visitors were 105-4.

But Andre Russell smashed 47 off just 19 balls with four sixes and the Tallawahs picked up the victory by six wickets with 14 balls left.
