Video: Lehmann planning 'aggressive brand of cricket' for Australia

SOUNDBITE (English) Darren Lehmann, Australia coach:
(Q – Can you win the Ashes?)
“Yes. Definitely. It’s a challenge for all the playing group and everyone involved in Cricket Australia. The team is going to play a certain way. We are going to play an aggressive brand of cricket that entertains people and fans but also gets the job done on and off the field. So I am excited by the challenge. (I am) certainly looking forward to working with Michael (Clarke) closely and the rest of the team members and looking forward to them having some success over this tour.”

SOUNDBITE (English) Michael Clarke, Australia captain:
“I had a few conversations with James Sutherland and Pat Howard on our return from India. So I guess the decision for me to stand down was brought to their attention a while back. It was just about timing I guess more than anything else. I think it gives me an opportunity to spend that time with the team. Being a selector is a full time job and I would much prefer to be concentrating on the boys and being able to help them as much as I possibly can in regards to preparation and also our performance. Our performances have not been as good as I would have liked so to me that gives me the extra chance to help the team.”

SOUNDBITE (English) Michael Clarke, Australia captain:
“For me, things don’t change in regards to my focus and I can speak for the team here. We are here to have success on this tour. We acknowledge that we haven’t performed as well as we would’ve liked so far. But we have time. We have a couple of practice games leading into the first Test match. We will be as well prepared as possible. And we are looking forward to this challenge. No doubt about it.”
