Video: Mitchell Johnson's terrifying bouncers during Ashes 2013
Australia's fourth-highest Test wicket-taker Mitchell Johnson has announced retirement from all forms of international cricket. The second Trans-Tasmanian match against Nw Zealand will be his last match.
Johnson said in his statement, "I feel now is the best time to say goodbye. I have been lucky to have a wonderful career and enjoyed every moment playing for my country." As a tribute to the bowler, Cricket.com.au have shared a video on their twitter profile and said that it is one of their most watched videos ever. This video with hashtag ThanksMitch compiles moments from Ashes 2013 which was a successful series for Johnson. He had bagged 37 wickets in this series.
The video shows England’s batsmen struggling to duck or crunch backwards to avoid the Aussie pacer’s fiery bouncers. Johnson even tries to intimidate Kevin Pietersen, Stuart Broad and Joe Root. The bowler not only scares his opponent, he also makes funny faces to make his teammates laugh. Amongst those who fell prey to his pace attack were Jonathan Trott, Stuart Broad and James Anderson.
The 34-year-old pacer made his One Day International debut in 2005 against New Zealand. He picked four wickets in his maiden Test match against Sri Lanka in 2007. Currently Johnson has 311 Test and 239 ODI wickets.
