Video: MS Dhoni asks Ravindra Jadeja to lure batsman into attempting a big shot
Every time an Indian bowler goes defensive, the team captain MS Dhoni gets blamed more than the player himself. While it was understandable to an extent given the powers that Dhoni has, of late, a few incidents have compelled his critics to rethink their stand. He has been repeatedly stressing that Amit Mishra needs to bowl slower through the air to get enough purchase of the track, besides adding that the leg spinner was kept out for so long as a result of his reluctance to do so.
Surprisingly, Amit Mishra has echoed similar thoughts, as well, that his captain has been giving him enough confidence to bowl slower and in turn aim for wickets.
Here is something that could add more strength to the viewpoint: MS Dhoni, in the 2014 T20 World Cup match against Australia, asks left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja to bowl slower and invite the batsman to go for a six, but Jadeja, as if oblivious to what was happening around him, sends down a flat, fast delivery.
May be, MS Dhoni does get more criticised than he should.
