Video: #ProteaFire campaign - Dale Steyn

As a part of Cricket South Africa’s #ProteaFire campaign – an initiative that is aimed at inspiring the players to win the 2015 World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand, speedster Dale Steyn has released a video explaining what representing his nation means to him.

South Africa, despite being one of the leading cricketing nations ever since their re-induction into the international cricket arena in 1991-92, have never won a World Cup, be it the 50-over version or the 20-over version.  They have somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in crucial matches, leading to them being referred to as ‘chokers’, and these videos are released with the intention to make them shed the tag and deliver to their full potential.

Despite the retirement of Jacques Kallis earlier this year, they will enter into the tournament as one of the favourites to win the trophy with the likes of Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Morne Morkel, Faf du Plessis and Steyn himself in the set-up, all at the peak of their abilities.
