Video: Sachin Tendulkar remembers his first visit to Lord's
On the occasion of bicentenary celebration of Lord’s, all set to lead the MCC side against Shane Warne’s Rest of the World XI, Sachin Tendulkar talked about his earliest memory of the ‘home of cricket’.
In 1988 and 1989, Sachin toured England with the Star Cricket Club, and remembers that on his first visit to this stadium, before the team photograph, he was told by the groundsman to make sure he doesn’t walk on the green (the grass on the ground). After 24 years of international cricket, Sachin then said that it “feels nice to be able to walk in the middle now.”
Sachin never scored a century at Lord’s in an international match, but playing for Rest of the World against MCC in the Princess of Wales Memorial match in 1998, he struck 125 off 114 to hand ROW a comfortable win.
