Video: Scott Styris scores 38 runs in an over
In July 2012, in the quarter-final of Friends Life T20, Scott Styris of Sussex scored a monumental 38 runs from a single over, the most in an over in professional cricket, en route to scoring the then third-fastest T20 century (currently joint 4th fastest). Sussex posted a humongous score of 230 and restricted Gloucestershire for 191 to qualify for the semis.
In the 18th over of Sussex’s innings, the South African born New Zealand bowler James Fuller bowled 8 times to send down 6 legitimate deliveries, featuring 2 no-balls. The rules of the tournament dictated that 2, and not 1, runs were awarded for a no-ball.
Quite incredibly, Fuller managed to bowl a dot ball too amidst the carnage!
