Video: Unlucky Shane Watson fails to kick ball away from stumps
Shane Watson was not quick enough with his legs to stop the ball trickling on to the stumps in the 4th over of the T20I against England, and his poor footwork coinciding with the football transfer window has flared imaginations all around.
Watson had made 8 runs off 5 balls, before an attempt to play back to a Steven Finn delivery went horribly wrong, producing an awkward sight, and inducing roaring laughter from the balcony where England’s coaching staff were stationed.
To add to what was one of the worst days in recent times for the 34-year-old, he had conceded 33 runs in the 2 overs that he bowled during the England innings.
Watson has had a poor run since the World Cup, and would have been looking to stake his claim to his place in new captain Steven Smith’s side with a solid knock at the top of the order.

After this bit of footwork from Shane Watson it's surely not long until Manchester United put in a £35m bid... https://t.co/A2bhoh7Jvo

Shane Watson out because he couldn't get the ball to hit his leg? Remarkable.
