Video: Watch Imad Wasim getting run out in the most ridiculous fashion
Batsmen getting run out usually comes as a result of some miscommunication between the two batsmen at the crease. However, rarely we do witness incidents when a batsman has no control over how he gets out, like Shreevats Goswami got out in the 2015/16 Ranji Trophy season or like how Peter Nevill got out in 2015/16 Big Bash League.
Then there are times when a batsman sort of loses his bearings and runs himself out in the most bizarre manner imaginable. Pakistan all-rounder, Imad Wasim has probably etched himself into the hall of fame for ridiculous ways to get out with the way he was dismissed in Thursday's Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi at Sharjah.
Peshawar Zalmi, led by Shahid Afridi, had won the toss and elected to bat and set the Kings a competitive target of 183 in 20 overs. Wasim, who plays for the Karachi Kings bowled two overs and conceded 28 runs with his slow left-arm deliveries.
Wasim is also known for his abilities to strike the ball well and was promoted up the order to bat at No. 4 to get some runs going for his side. His team was 27/2 in 5.1 overs when he came into bat.
With attacking English batsman James Vince at the other end, Wasim did not have to take any risks at the start of his innings. After playing a dot ball on the first delivery, Wasim came down the track on the next ball and hit the ball to the deep midwicket region for a single. Or so it seemed.
Wasim who was jogging along all the way down to the bowler's end decided to take it way too easy as he started walking the last few steps before he reached the crease. Shahid Yousuf who was the fielder in the deep threw the ball to the bowler's end, where the bowler Mohammad Asghar was alert enough to notice that Wasim was still a couple feet out of the crease and knocked the bails off.
What makes the dismissal worse is that Wasim was so lazy that he tried to make it into the crease with his feet and not with his bat which might have given him a better chance of making it into the crease. This dismissal cannot be described in any way other than a ‘brain-freeze’ moment from the 27-year-old Pakistani all-rounder.

Craziness! This is very very lazy from Imad Wasim! Kings batsmen are throwing it away here!
