Team India ensured yet another thrilling victory against their Australian counterparts to book a semi-final berth in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 at the IS Bindra Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali on Sunday.

As the Indian skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit a boundary off the very first ball of the 20th over to take his team over the line, the entire stadium erupted into uncontrolled exuberance.

Once regarded as the land of magicians and snake charmers, India has come up leaps and bounds in recent years not only to become the largest stable democracy of the world but also one of the most powerful economies on the globe.

It is a land of diversities. From the mighty Himalayas in the north to the fertile Gangetic plains further south; from the dense forests of central India to the sunny beaches of Goa- it is the most versatile packaged deal that you can ever come across.

It is also a land of religions – Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, Buddhism, Cricket – you name it and you’ll find it. And no, the last name on the list isn’t a typo. The fact that Indians adore cricket is an understatement.

The sport has attained a status of a hysterical epidemic in this South Asian country. Also, with 1.3 billion of them present all around the globe, one can find all sorts of Indian cricket fans surrounding oneself.
