Vinod Kambli drags Sachin Tendulkar into Maharashtra drought issue, gets trolled

There have been many opinions on whether the IPL matches scheduled in Maharashtra should be shifted out of the state in light of the severe drought in the state. The court has ruled that IPL matches must be shifted out of the state, while former players such as Sunil Gavaskar have said that shifting the matches is not a long-term solution to the problem and that this is happening because the IPL is an easy target.

Vinod Kambli landed in some trouble after appearing to drag old friend and much more successful India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar into the debate. While it is true there was no apparent malice in the tweet, there was no need for it, and as a result, he again got massive trolled by other Twitter users.

This is the response his tweet met with:

Kambli has been on a spree of making references to Sachin in recent times, even suggesting publicly that he should be made Team India coach. However, his approach towards the matter of mending fences with his one-time close friend is probably has not been the most politically correct.

Also, what Kambli perhaps did not know, is that Sachin is part of a group of former players who are contributing to a fund to alleviate the situation of the farmers.

VVS Laxman had said at a promotional event as Sunrisers Hyderabad mentor, “We definitely feel for the farmers and I know for a fact that Sachin (Tendulkar) has plans to raise funds for them. As a cricket fraternity, we want to come together, contribute and help the farmers. I am sure this will happen in the near future.”
