Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan pay respect to the martyred Indian soldiers in Uri

Virat Kohli is the first-ever brand ambassador of the Border Security Force (BSF)

Following the terrorist attack on the Indian army camp in Uri, Indian celebrities and stars have gone vocal, condemning the attack on Indian defense forces. Yesterday, the Indian test captain Virat Kohli, former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin, Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan chose to pay their respects on Twitter to the victims of Uri terror attack.

Four gunmen armed with modern rifles and grenades sneaked into the Army camp and killed 17 soldiers of the 12 Infantry Brigade.

The Indian test captain is known for his patriotism since long. Kohli expressed his sorrow on Twitter by saying, “I can’t explain my emotions.” The 27-year-old also posted a photograph of the attacked Indian camp and paid his respects to the fallen soldiers.

The Indian test captain also has links with the Indian defense forces like his compatriot MS Dhoni. Kohli is the brand ambassador of the Border Security Force (BSF).

Mohammed Azharuddin, the former Indian captain also condemned the attack. In his most recent tweet, Azharuddin said he was “shocked” by the terrorist attack and paid his condolences to the families of the 17 dead Indian soldiers. 

Virender Sehwag, former Indian opener condemned the attack in an angry tone. “They had a family, they had a son, they had a daughter,” Sehwag said.

Shikhar Dhawan, the current Indian test opener was also sad and paid his condolences to the families of the 17 soldiers. “Heart goes out to their families. May God give them strength,” Dhawan said in his tweet last night.

The four terrorists were finally killed by the army jawans after a three-hour-long gun battle and are believed to be part of Pakistan-based terrorist cell Jaish-e-Muhammad. 

The Indian sports persons were deeply saddened by the terrorist attack on Uri Army camp. Other Indian celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Priyanka Chopra also expressed their respects to the soldiers killed in the attack.
