Virat Kohli climbs up to third as India retain second spot in ODI rankings

Kohli ranks third in the latest ODI rankings

India’s Virat Kohli has climbed to number three in the ICC rankings for the one-day international (ODI) batsmen, just two points ahead of New Zealand’s Kane Williamson while AB de Villiers’ continues to dominate the standing with 884 points.

Besides Kohli, opener Shikhar Dhawan and ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni are the other two Indians in the top-10 list on rank six and eight respectively. South Africa’s Hashim Amla sit comfortably at number two position with 811 points.

The only Australian player in the table is Glenn Maxwell on number nine place with 703 points.

In the ODI’s team ranking, the South African team has climbed up to number three following a 2-1 win over New Zealand in the recently concluded three-match ODI series. The Proteas had started the series on 109 points as compared to New Zealand’s 110 points. However, the 2-1 series win means South Africa has moved to third on 110 points while New Zealand has dropped to fourth on 109 points.

Australia still rank number one with 129 points, ahead of the Indian team who rank second with 115 points. Bangladesh, Pakistan, and West Indies rank seven, eight and nine with 96, 90 and 88 points respectively.
