Virat Kohli excited about the historic T20 series in US

In a recent facebook video posted by the Indian cricket team, The Indian Test captain Virat Kohli expressed his excitement at the prospect of touring USA for the first time as Indian cricketers. He was aware of the fact that all the people of America are very excited for the upcoming T20 series and he expected the American crowds to cheer for Team India.

It’s the very first time India will be playing a series in the US which will also help to popularize cricket in that region. Kohli signed off by urging the people of US to keep on supporting and cheering for Team India.

The Indian national team is currently on the Caribbean islands for a Test series and will directly fly to the US from West Indies for the epic two-match T20 series. India needed to win the last Test badly to retain their No.1 ranking but as hardly any play was possible in the Test, Pakistan has climbed up to the top of the ladder for the very first time in their cricketing history.

It was a disappointing way to surrender the No.1 ranking but Virat Kohli will be proud of his achievements as he became the 1st Indian captain to win two Tests in a series in West Indies.

The Indians captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be wary of the fact that West Indies are the T20 champions and they will send a specialist T20 team for the tour so we can expect a much better fight from the Caribbeans than the Test series in which they have been overwhelmed by India in all the departments.

This will also be the first time West Indies will play a T20 match after their former captain Darren Sammy was sacked unceremoniously. The captaincy burden has been handed over to the World T20 hero Craig Braithwaite.

Earlier this month, BCCI President Anurag Thakur finalized the dates for the historic series. It was expected that all the first string players will be a part of their Duleep Trophy teams but after the confirmation of the T20 series they all are set to miss the Duleep trophy at least for the initial stages of the tournament.

Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara who were a part of the Test squad in West Indies will join their respective Duleep trophy squads while young pacer Shardul Thakur has already returned and will be representing India Blue. Indian limited overs captain MS Dhoni and the new rising sensation of T20 Jasprit Bumrah will directly join the squad in the US.
