Virat Kohli insists ICC World T20 is a great opportunity to stage a comeback
In a very interesting equation wherein it has been highlighted that the opponents playing in ICC World T20 have played many more T20Is than India. Virat Kohli admitted that the lack of experience is certainly a weakness.
“You can call that a factor because we haven’t had too many T20 games as a unit, but whatever games we have played – against Pakistan in Ahmedabad and against Australia as well – we had two great games and we had a good game against England in Pune,” Kohli said, trying to eke out the positives from that uncomfortable statistic.
He further stressed: “We have played a few good games as a unit. I wouldn’t say too many, but whenever we have played as a unit, we have played well.”
Highlighting the very fact that T20 provides an opportunity for youngsters, he opined: “It’s a chance for all the younger guys to express themselves. That’s something you need at the international level. I see it as a wonderful opportunity to gel together as a unit in such a big tournament. If it goes well for us, it’ll be lovely.”
Team India will be playing their first practice match against Sri Lanka today and should be able to streamline the available resources for an optimum utilization.
