Virat Kohli watches Australian open; meets Roger Federer
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma with Roger Federer
Virat Kohli is the toast of the nation - rightly and deservedly so. He has become the first ever Indian captain to win a Test series on Australian soil. The 30-year-old followed it up by leading India to their first ever bilateral ODI series win in Australia.
It was a historic tour down under for Kohli and the Indian team. Not too many teams, especially Asian teams, have historically found success on Australian soil. That pretty much sums up the magnitude of the star batsman's achievements as a captain and player in this tour.
With the cricketing action shifting to New Zealand wherein India are scheduled to play 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is, Kohli refreshed himself by catching the ongoing Australian Open in Melbourne.
Kohli was spotted with his wife and actress Anushka Sharma. The duo met and interacted with tennis legend Roger Federer. It must have been an interesting conversation as two sporting legends shared their thoughts on each other.
Kohli was at Melbourne Park, which is adjacent to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The latter was the venue for the third and final ODI which India won by seven wickets.
The Indian skipper got to witness the likes of Novak Djokovic and Serena Wiliams in action.Β
In his official Instagram account, Kohli wrote, "What a day at the Australian open. β€πππ An amazing way to finish the Australian summer. Forever gratefulππβ€#ausopen."
Amidst their respective schedules which would be demanding and grueling, it would have definitely been a breath of fresh air for the sportsmen to interact with each other.
A day well spent for Kohli who would be looking to capitalize on the performances of the Indian team from the tour down-under into the ODI and T20I series against New Zealand.
