Virat Kohli's mother rejects Danielle Wyatt's marriage proposal
Saroj Kohli, Virat Kohli’s mother, has made it clear that there is no idea of his son marrying a girl any time soon and that his concentration would only be on his batting and his career ahead.
This follows England woman cricketer Danielle Wyatt’s proposal, in jest, to the 25-year-old through Twitter. Wyatt had tweeted, ‘Kholi (sic) marry me!’ after Kohli’s match-winning 72* off 42 against South Africa that sealed India’s final spot in the ongoing World Cup T20 tournament.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle from her Delhi residence, Kohli’s mother said, “It is not the right age for Virat to marry now. We can’t think of his marriage for another 4-5 years. He has just started playing cricket. He has to concentrate on his batting and career ahead.”
When she was further asked about what she would do if Wyatt is prepared to wait for the next 4-5 years, she refused to commit by saying, “It is for you to speculate. Write whatever you want to write.”
Wyatt has represented England in 32 ODIs and 50 T20s and was a part of the team that lost to the Australians in the World Cup T20 finals at Bangladesh.
