Virat Kohli's trip down memory lane with Rahul Dravid
The baton has been passed on in Indian cricket from the generation of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to the likes of Virat Kohli. Team India continues to be one of the best international cricket teams, currently under the invincible leadership of Kohli, the 27-year-old leader.
Kohli, currently being thwarted by rain in a bid to win the 2nd Test against West Indies, uploaded a collage of two photos on Twitter – one which shows him being interviewed by Dravid in recent times, and the other which shows a starry-eyed and much younger version of Kohli gazing at Dravid in a dressing room from ten years ago.
The picture is accompanied by an inspirational message about following one’s dreams and how they can come true just by persevering – “Moments like these make you believe and feel grateful for where you are. Once I was trying to make eye contact with this legend as a child and then was interviewed by the same legend while playing test cricket for India. I guess dreams do come true. All you have to do is always believe in yourself”.
Dravid is currently in charge of blooding young cricketers into top level cricket, and is due to depart for a tour of Australia with India ‘A’ this week. From the inspiration Kohli confesses to have drawn from him, there are many more aspiring cricketers who can do the same from the present generation of youngsters.
