Virender Sehwag extends help to families of martyred soldiers, promises to finance children's education
The whole of India has been completely shaken by the Pulwama Terror Attack on the 14th of February, as 40 jawans were martyred with several others battling on for dear life, when a truck laden with nearly 80kg of explosives crashed into buses carrying the soldiers in Pulwama, Kashmir.
After what is definitely one of the biggest terror attacks in India in the past three decades, help is pouring in from all corners of the country, to help the deceased soldiers and in supporting their families, in these moments of unbearable loss. For instance, the central government has opened a portal, https://bharatkeveer.gov.in/ wherein anyone can financially contribute to the noble cause.
Former Indian cricketer and World Cup Winner, Virender Sehwag had expressed public grief over the dastardly act, tweeting out: "Really pained by the cowardly attack on our CRPF in J&K in which our brave men have been martyred. No words are enough to describe the pain. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured."
As of latest, the swashbuckling opener has decided to extend his services to the army men beyond simple words, having decided to join the bandwagon of supporters by offering to extend educational support to the kids of the martyred soldiers, via his International School in New Delhi.
The former star opener thus wrote on his Twitter account: "Nothing we can do will be enough, but the least I can do is offer to take complete care of the education of the children of our brave CRPF jawans martyred in #Pulwama in my Sehwag International School @SehwagSchool, Jhajjar. Saubhagya hoga,"
Several other eminent sportspersons have also contributed in ways big and small, more as a token of respect and pride for our nation's guardian angels, than just as measures of condolences.
