Virender Sehwag sends across birthday wishes to Bishan Singh Bedi on Twitter
Virender Sehwag’s popularity on Twitter is only increasing each day with his creative birthday wishes for cricketers around the world. Thus, it was no surprise that “The Nawab of Najafgarh” decided to send across birthday wishes to legendary Indian spinner Bishan Singh Bedi through his twitter handle on Sunday.
Bishan Singh Bedi is regarded as one of the best cricketers to have represented India. He was a part of the spin quartet which also comprised of BS Chandrasekhar, EAS Prasanna and S Venkataraghavan.
Known as an outspoken person, Bedi led the country in 22 Tests and September 25 marks the birthday of the Delhi Stalwart. Sehwag, who is ruling Twitter the same way he once ruled the pitch, tweeted,
Though Sehwag mentioned cheating in good humour, trying to describe how Bedi out-skilled the batsmen so effortlessly, which seemed like he had an unfair advantage over them, the Birthday man apparently misinterpreted the tweet.
Bedi replied to his Tweet, thanking and clarifying,
Among others from the cricket fraternity who joined in the birthday wishes included Mohammad Kaif and Anil Kumble.
Anil Kumble, whose bowling average stands outwitted by Bedi, preferred keeping it sweet and simple.
Sehwag has been continuously hitting six after six on Twitter and we could not have been more entertained. One of his best tweets came last month against Piers Morgan when the British journalist mocked India’s Olympic celebrations.
Morgan tweeted saying,
The fiery, former batsman pulled back no punches when he reminded the British journalist that "Indians cherish every small happiness," but the country which invented cricket is yet to win a world cup.
Ever since, the Twitter war between Morgan and Sehwag is taking new turns very often. The former Indian opener is currently in England to play a charity match.
