India’s swashbuckling opening batsman, Virender Sehwag, has been out of the team for a while now after struggling with poor form. While he is eyeing a return into the national team, he has stated that the team comes first before any individuals, while speaking to Zee News.

“Victory of the team is always more important than the individual performance of a player,” said Sehwag , who was in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, for the inauguration of two synthetic pitches in the city at the Pragati Sporting Club.

“I am much happier when I score a 40 or 50 and the team wins than when I score a double century and the team loses,” Sehwag added.
The Pragati Sporting Club is one of India`s oldest cricket clubs. It has produced quite a few players who have represented India at the international level like Shiv Sundar Das and domestic players like Sritam Das, Ranjib Biswal and Satya Ranjan Satpathy.
