Virender Sehwag trolls Shoaib Akhtar on Twitter, gets help from Brett Lee

The equation between Shoaib Akhtar and Virender Sehwag is as interesting as it used to be

Virender Sehwag used to be a nightmare for bowlers with his willow, but he has turned into a nightmare for Shoaib Akhtar particularly, with the form he has carried into the commentary room. Things have come to such a pass that it would mean something is wrong if Sehwag does not pull Akhtar's leg for too many days at a stretch.

He was at it on Saturday morning as well, picking on Akhtar like he would pick on his deliveries in their playing days.

Akhtar posted a picture of a great Pakistan team, the one he had been a part of in his earliest playing days – a team consisting of greats like Saeed Anwar, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis.

The Pakistan team of the late 90s and early 00s were a dreaded team all over the world, but their one great failing remained that they never won a major trophy. This was the fact Sehwag picked on. He also said that despite having such a ‘dream team’, they couldn’t beat rivals India in a World Cup game either.

Sehwag was not done just at that though, as his memories of Shoaib Akhtar must have burnt especially brightly on this day. Referring to a TV show where retired pace merchants Shoaib Akhtar and Brett Lee are facing up to each other, Sehwag commented that Akhtar never had the guts to issue a similar challenge to him during their time together on the sets.

Brett Lee agreed that it had been a good call.
