When Virender Sehwag posted a hilarious response to 'fan' VVS Laxman on Twitter

Sehwag scored a first-class century two days after announcing his retirement from international cricket

The time of Dussehra in Mysore is a festive occasion and rarely does anything else gain more focus than the festival. But, on Thursday the city of Mysore flocked to watch India's cricketing entertainer – Virender Sehwag.

Sehwag was playing in the Ranji Trophy for Haryana against defending champions Karnataka. Sehwag scored a century in his first innings after announcing his retirement. He carried on doing what he is best known to do – play cricket with flamboyance and score runs at ease.

After winning the toss, Haryana opted to bat first. Losing two early wickets, Haryana seemed to be in a spot of bother. But, they were rescued out of it by their mercurial captain who had a 206-run partnership with Jayant Yadav.

Sehwag went on to score a scintillating knock of 136, that came off 170 balls in usual Sehwag-fashion  – at a strike rate of 80. The knock included 16 fours and three sixes.

Many people took to Twitter to react to the dashing batsman's 42nd First-Class hundredFormer Indian cricketer VVS Laxman was delighted with Sehwag's performance and took to Twitter to congratulate him and to convey his desire of watching Sehwag score a triple hundred before he signed off.

Sehwag was sport enough to respond to Laxman by telling that his opponents put their fielders on the boundary line once he completes his half-century.

Almost every cricket fan will know that having fielders on the boundary line is not much of a concern to a batsman like Sehwag. We all know of Sehwag's inclination to bring up milestones by clearing the boundary.

Cricket pundit and former cricketer Aakash Chopra made sure to note that and tweeted about how Sehwag brought up his first triple century with a six. Sehwag hit Saqlain Mushtaq for a six to become the first Indian to score a triple hundred.
